Dead Celebrities @ KULT Opens April 2nd (Los Idols de la Muerte)

KULT PRESS: "Some of our favourite Kult artists are throwing together a sick collection of portraits and sculptures of some of the famous DEAD Celebrities who have been iconic in their lives, their muses, inspirational figures and of course a couple of Super Villains. We welcome you to join the show on Thursday 2nd April and kick back us as we roll in the first show of the year." (Dead Celebrities - Los Idols de la Muerte on Facebook)

DEAD CELEBRITIES is a group art show from KULT opening April 2nd at the C2-5, 11 Upper Wilkie Road (Singapore 228120) and we have a smattering of WIPs and final artwork culled from Instagram hashtagged #deadcelebrities. Kult always organizes and curates these spiffy pop-culture x art mashups, so you'd do well to stay tuned to their Facebook and IG @kultmagazine

Art of Johnny Crap

@beans_and_bacon will be printing these dumb prints for me. Stay tuned.

Jonathan Bergeron AKA "Johnny Crap" brings the notion of "ART" x "Pop Culture" firmly in your faces with his paint brush, some of whom are featured here, and possibly available to purchase online via http://johnnycrap.bigcartel.com. The gentleman instagrams loads @johnnycrap (including work-in-progress), and these are just some select pieces shown here...

Seeing them reminds me of when I first saw comicbook characters depicted via realistic painting, seen on trading cards (which I devoured like a madman way before I had collected "toys" too LOL) - and I saw that in the utmost respective way, and joyous feeling to gaze upon them, for myself personally! :)

As a nation mourns the passing of a founding father and former first Prime Minister of Singapore, folks take to their paints and pens to depict Mr Lee Kuan Yew in art, a selection of which has been shown here. Rest In Peace Mr.Lee. #RIPLKY
